It would be nice if there was a way reduce the load on instances in regards to images. This could be either be done by converting the image to webp to make it smaller

ExampleHow Tesseract does it:

collapsed inline media

Or by implementing a setting for alternative image hosts (imgur, catbox.moe for example)
