Is it that suprising that the generation that grew up with indoctrination "russia good. Dictatorship good. West bad" is still programmed like that?

Its not just that. Eastern germany has also been systematically underfunded for decades. The divide is not just historic, its real and serves its purpose of creating infighting that prevents people from focusing on the real enemy, rich people.
Yes that too. It was looted by Treuhand and Kohl Government lets be fucking honest here. Its not a wonder why many there of the old regiem werent integrated into a free democratic nation
The amazing part is that most of them will strongly refute this and believe that they are resisting against "the system" and are being oppressed.
That begs the question, those who grew up with the "East bad" indoctrination, are they right or also programmed?
Oh no they are also just as bad. My parents dont even drive threw east germany. My mom openly said "we shouldnt have let them back in. They only take our money!" "We had to pay for all their stuff!!" They are just as badly programmed. But thing is. They arent anti democratic and support nazis.
Some in the " west " do but there is a clear east west divide with nazi support
How about you?
How about democracy being decided by what the media shows which is owned by billionaires?
Since Mamdani's election it feels like everything can be alright. However I am not sure if that is also part of the circus that does the programming.
In germany the media isnt owned by billionaires. But it isnt without bias and that is clear.
In my opinion billionairs, millionairs should not exist in a true democracy. As soon as someone has such wealth their voice is not equal to the others. Its more amplified and they can influence politics beyond just elections, writing letters or protesting.
While Mamdani's victory in these dark times of fascist resurgence is a win, we always fight on. Democracy is always under threat and so every citicens duty is to defend it with what they can. You feeling hopefull isnt programming. Its human. But for the US there is a huge battle still to come. And unless the US democracy is getting destroyed and rebuild a new with better distribution of power, an actual democratic voting system and more checks of balance, this will happen again
Edit: there is privat media in germany too. And some of them are a huge problem like the entire Springer Printing Empire. They openly are working to destroy the democracy and help the nazis. Think FOX news but with even less facts and more tits
Do they want to put the wall back up?
Yes, please.
How can anyone possibly look at russia and think "I'll have some of that please"? The place is a complete dystopia.
East Germany once was a key part of the communist block. The people have been groomed as soon as they could walk to love Mother Russia, as they were important. The GDR was the science and technology forefront, being the only eastern block country to have a chip production, for example.
This ended about 1990, 35 years ago. So one half of the current east German population grew up groomed. Then the reunification ended a lot of cozyness for some people (the state had basically be bankrupt, but they were used to live on that soft cushion), so 'change bad, old times good' was a common trope. Chanceller Helmut Kohl promised them 'flowering lands', which he could not really deliver.
Another generation grow up under the impression that the west had the duty to supply the old comforts in a way, and didn't, despite the fact that we spent billions over billions in the east.
That's why so many still long for 'the good old days' under the Russian boot. Or any other boot, for that.
Unironicly YES. They want their east germany back and think the AfD can give it back.
But always remeber its only โ or so in all of east germany voting for Nazis
