On Air Force One, the president, 79, challenged Democratic congresswomen Jasmine Crockett of Texas and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York to a cognitive exam. Then, he admitted he recently took one—and struggled.
“Have [Ocasio-Cortez] pass the exams that I decided to take when I was at Walter Reed,” he said. “Those are very hard—they’re really aptitude tests, I guess, in a certain way, but they’re cognitive tests. Let AOC go against Trump. Let Jasmine go against Trump.”

Jfc... Aren't those tests extremely basic, requiring a modicum of coherent short to long-term memory retention and logic?
"Person, woman, man, camera, TV"
You should be president!
Jesus Christ.
I try to avoid seeing and listening to this moron, and when I go long lengths without it, I just envision this cartoonishly dumb dumb fuck when I see his name
Every single time without fail, when I see or hear him again he exceeds the caricature I've made up for the dumbest, most selfish, classless, loudmouthed person I've imagined.
Its so on the nose and outrageous that sometimes I think it's just an act, or potentially a deep fake or something but then reality comes back.
Writing a news story about some guy tweeting about the President's health rather than simply writing about the President's health is absolutely bonkers.
IDGAF about Newsom's opinion. Do some journalism.
Gotta push a borderline centrist who's popular just so that actual left thinkers don't get publicity.
Holy shit I can't wait for legacy media to die in a fiery death.
Liability, they don't want to be sued. Now they can just go "Newsom said that not us!"
Bullshit. The truth is an absolute defense against libel.
Don't tell me the excuse the paper uses, as if I don't know or do care. They aren't doing their jobs, and their abdication of real journalism is why the country is being torn apart.
No bullshit, someone else paying and taking the blame is always going to be cheaper then having to go to court and do anything or pay anyone.
Well duh, though it isn't abdication it's media consolidation and weaking fair media regulations. Journalists that fought find themselves out on their asses running blogs and side hustling Uber or whatever.
I'm rewatching The Newsroom right now and weeping at the state of journalism.
Love the newsroom. If only that American newsroom existed
This reads like a puff piece on newsom - i wouldn't be surprised if he paid for it.
He's hardly the only one talking about these tests or trump's obvious senility, which has been widely commented on for years.
He's gearing up for a 2028 presidential run (taking it as a given that there'll even be open elections at that time) and has the backing of the DNC media machine.
Whether or not it's explicit quid pro quo puffery, this is DEFINITELY paid for one way or the other. As are most articles about the unbearably slick opportunist Newsom.
Newsom would absolutely legitimize phony facist elections if he was allowed to be the highest profile loser.
I can just imagine his concession speach: "I wanna thank all of my base for a good, clean election. The most important thing is we stayed peaceful. I hope yall enjoy el salvador."
Interesting.
If anyone wants to look up the test, there are only two screeners that he would have done, both have some strong overlap. There is the MMSE and the MoCA. it is more likely he did the MoCA, it is the more popular, more commonly given, and slightly better for detecting MCI (mild cognitive imparement). With that said though, you can have dementia and still pass these. There really isn't a 'best' screener developed. This exact problem gets brought up all the time in dimentia research. Basically, if you have strong suspicion they have to go to a neurologist that specializes in memory care and do a full evaluation. Good luck telling trump to do that.
If you want to see them, do a search for it (MMSE or MoCA) and select images.
Is he dead yet? That's the only thing I need to know before I crack the seal on my bottle of 20yo Balvenie and then symbolically piss on his grave after the drunk-up.
No, looks like he’s gearing up to be the blue maga nominee unfortunately…
Well, I meant Trump, but I wouldn't shed too many tears over newsom either.
