Just your daily reminder that the President of the United States is a deranged lunatic.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 43 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Republicans have been repeating this line since the Clinton Administration (at least).

Historically, the actual elected representatives would be going on network news and having "debates" that merely implied it, while hatchetfolks like Ann Coulter and Sean Hannity made the claim explicit. But now the Kool-aid vendors have become the Kool-aid drinkers. Trump's as saturated in this propaganda as anyone else in the party. So he's just saying the quiet part out loud, because its what the conservative Boomer/Millennial base has been indoctrinated into believing.

[–] pentastarm@piefed.ca 14 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

I mentioned at work, when the conversation turned to the shutdown and the blame was firmly placed on democrats, that both chambers of the legislature and the executive branch are controlled by the same party. And of course o got push back that it's all because the democrats wouldn't compromise. And it just feeds like I'm continually slamming my head into a wall when talking to these regular everyday people. The propaganda is so pervasive, it feels like, what even is the point? How do we break our coworkers/family/friends/etc out of the lock? That is the part that I don't understand.

[–] Zedd_Prophecy@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

There's no left information propaganda channel like fox news and there needs to be...where the heck is Bloomberg and his money funding a media empire? These people are controlled and "Informed" solely by TV and their peers who watch TV and fox news has been the poison for a decade.

[–] krooklochurm@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 weeks ago

You don't.

War is politics when all other means of discourse have failed.

[–] Scotty_Trees@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

You don’t. All you can do is always act with empathy, kindness, and respect and just hope for the best. We can’t control everything in the world, but we can control how we allow ourselves to feel about it and react to it in whatever positive, constructive ways you can. These are the best ways to respond.

Secondary reminder that the man literally demonizing his opponents has declared it to be criminal to criticise him or his cronies by accurately describing them with politically descriptive nouns or adjectives.

This doesn't just go away with the next midterms people, there ain't gonna be no next midterms, not meaningfully anyway, unless people actually do something to stop and depose this fucking madman.

[–] WatDabney@sopuli.xyz 8 points 3 weeks ago

Which is why I remind people at every opportunity that he really, sincerely, is unhinged.

This goes way beyond political rhetoric and hyperbole - he's bludgeoningly obviously profoundly mentally ill.

Much is unsurprisingly made of the march to fascism under his administration, but the thing is that that's really being accomplished by the people around him. He isn't leading the country to fascism or to any other thing. He's just sitting there in the Oval Office, surrounded by bright shinies, doing whatever his warped perceptions and stunted emotions compel him to do, And it's just convenient for the fascists that the natural instincts of a fragile, delusional, sociopathic egomaniac, toxic narcissist and craven bully with the emotional development of a toddler lend themselves so well to fascism.

Trump is labeling half the US as “others” and getting nastier in messaging instead of referring to us as fellow Americans. They’re all normalizing this through repetition so that when they do come for us, no one bats an eye.

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

I will bat more than an eye and I'm sure many others will as well. Some are already doing so. I have yet to experience any of this firsthand but if the day comes when I have to choose between watching violence being done to my fellow citizens and stopping said violence I know what I will choose.

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 41 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Just a much needed reminder that an overwhelming majority of Americans, even in MAGA, want to see the Epstein files.

[–] Cold_Brew_Enema@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

The release of the files would do nothing. His base would still support him. There could he undeniable evidence that he fucks children and they would justify it. Trump is above the law. He will never be ousted.

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I would agree, but if anything was made obvious is that he absolutely does not want those files released. Whatever is in there has got him terrified.

[–] NuXCOM_90Percent@lemmy.zip 34 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I WISH the Democrats were that cool

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 8 points 3 weeks ago

Uh... if you like your Wicca, you can keep it.

[–] selkiesidhe@sh.itjust.works 18 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Satanic Temple are good people. I'm proud to be associated with them. They are what Christians SHOULD BE if they followed ol JC's advice...

Ah yes. The party of Satan, who would forcefully drag children out of their homes to send them to an unkown place. Typical satanic dem behaviour. ... Oh no, wait. /s

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 15 points 3 weeks ago

You're the one DEFINITELY FUCKING Satan, bro

[–] Bbbbbbbbbbb@lemmy.world 14 points 3 weeks ago

No, I am a Satanist and the Dems revolt at my existence too

[–] 0ndead@infosec.pub 11 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

So Trump is now a shitposter

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 13 points 3 weeks ago

He established that years ago, lol

[–] cmbabul@slrpnk.net 9 points 3 weeks ago

Always had been

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

Nah, occasionally a shitpost is funny.

[–] SapphironZA@sh.itjust.works 10 points 3 weeks ago

I choose Satan over the party of Pedophiles.

[–] zod000@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 3 weeks ago

And yet, he keeps doing his best to mimic the supposed coming of the Anti-Christ. Just more Trump/Republican projection I guess.

[–] EpicMuch@sh.itjust.works 7 points 3 weeks ago

PROJECTION. It’s just and only projection of what they see in themselves

[–] madcaesar@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

Satan's only crime was telling the truth. Figures this orange freak would hate him.

[–] Microtonal_Banana@lemmy.zip 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Im independent but If he keeps making them sound so metal and cool I may just register as a Democrat now.

[–] Revan343@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 weeks ago

A mass of independents registering Democrat (and then showing up to the primary) is exactly what the party needs

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

He would know, after all, he's sleeping with Satan, and has fathered a child with him.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 5 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Reminded me that I read recently that the beleif system that eventually became Christianity started off wth multiple gods and the one they choose to make the monotheistic beliefs about was their god of DEATH AND DESTRUCTION, while Baal--Satan--was actually kind of a cool dude.

[–] Tarquinn2049@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

No one needs to be "given a message" to hate trump. It's the natural stance taken upon hearing even 1% of what he is about. We don't "hate" easily, he's just that easy to hate.

[–] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago
[–] DarkAri@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Headline should be, worlds most hated massively obese pedophile tries to weaponize religion against the poor.

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

He's not the world's most massively obease pedophile

[–] W3dd1e@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 weeks ago

Hail Satan.

[–] Zedd_Prophecy@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Those were better times

[–] Kurious84@lemmings.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

We already knew he's screwing satan.

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Unhinged? That's his average

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Nah the Christofascism is actually pretty new for him. No one with a brain thinks he's ever been a true(ish) believer fanatic type, my money is this is the result of him realizing he's about to die and being surrounded by actual Christofascist types like Hegsweth.

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

No one with a brain, sure, but we’re talking about the US here. Too many people to handwave think he’snthe second coming of Christ or was chosen by god for a holy mission.

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

God it's like listening to my mom ranting and raving at junior high me circa 1997. He gonna confiscate my black t-shirts and devil music CDs too?

[–] some_designer_dude@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

What’re these? Drums? Guitar noises?? Why not just invite the Dark Lord to dinner?!
