Today, Telesat is a satellite operator, not a service provider. With Lightspeed, they will provide MEF connectivity services to wholesale and other service providers, including for Canadian internet companies. What this means is that Canadian consumers will in fact benefit from this amazing project. Source: I used to work at Telesat.
