Hey guys, let's not bait each other into fights. Go after the argument, not the users. I know Newsom is controversial, but discuss what you don't like about him.

Me: Calls the police one time.

Another day police come unannounced and destroy my house.

Me: Complains about it online.

Average Twitter commenter: "Is this you calling the police? Lololololoolol"

I watched the video, using the other comment's xcancel link, and it is a vast mischaracterization of his statement to imply that he is being hypocritical because he asked for the National Guard in 2024.

In the video, Newsom said that the National Guard was down there, along with customs agents, and the border patrol. He said that the National Guard was helping particularly with fentanyl, and that everybody needs more resources to address border problems.

Even if you interpret it to mean that he was saying that the National Guard specifically needs more human resources, which is a somewhat fair interpretation, but not exactly what he said, then he still wasn't being hypocritical, because in the previous post, he is talking about borders, and in the current post, he is talking about not sending troops to our cities.

TL;DR: Asking for National Guard to be sent to the nation's border, and then raising the alarm when they're sent to cities, instead, is not hypocritical.

State governors do have the authority to deploy the national guard within their own borders. Its pretty well agreed upon both internationally and domestically that its fine to send a military into a sovereign state upon request of the local government.

I dislike governor gavin, but requesting the guard when he did is within his authority as governor.

Anyone calling this hypocrisy doesn't understand the concept of consent.

Yeah, I thought I'd cropped it, but decided to leave it be. What's good for the goose, etc.

That wasn't the punchline?

Anyone clicking to figure out the below comment, newsom asked for more resources to combat issues at the border like drug trade and illegal crossings. Made no mention of deploying the fucking military to occupy LA

Apologies (to all), and thanks for pointing it out. FIXED.

Yes.

Newsom is a piece of shit.

That doesnt make him wrong about what Trump is doing either.

Unreal. Legit or not, we don't stand a chance.

sigh ... That was a completely different story from 2020. And besides, a governor requesting the National Guard is completely different from the president deploying the National Guard without the governor's permission.

I can only assume that you have an agenda and are not interested in the truth if you're going to make comments like that.
