Funny how the workers need to make these sacrifices, and not the corporations; yet the benefits go to the CEO's and shareholders and corporations, but not the workers.

For real, just the other day I saw a post about how it’s getting more difficult to find tech jobs now. Seems like the companies should be the ones to hire more people if they want to compete with china rather than the workers sacrificing work-life balance.
Says another guy who probably has staff to cut his toenails.
It's inspiring how giving and generous the rich are with other people's lives.

Or maybe American executives need to stop taking exorbitant compensation packages that needlessly raise prices.

Why are we competing with other humans? It's not like they're some alien invaders from another planet. Let's work together to kill all the billionaires. 🥹
I don't want to kill them, I just want to strip them of their stolen wealth, and use it to reshape society to instinctively treat such aggressively self-righteous assholes as the true "undesirables."
Tradeoffs in the opposite direction from what he is thinking maybe. China has an extremely low fertility rate that will inevitably burden their economy as time goes on, and the US's population is only stable because of immigration. We can't simply outwork a country with several times the population we have to draw a workforce from, and so overextracting human labor at a rate that leaves people too exhausted or busy to desire a family is just going to result in an even more constrained labor pool in the future. I'd be willing to bet that we'd actually eventually have a stronger economy in the decades to come if we were to collectively do less work.
