Someone else mentioned it’s houndstooth, but there’s a company out there who turned that pattern into “catstooth.” I own pants with this pattern and they make me very happy!

I feel like I'm being judged....a little uneasy tbh.

Stock photo since I’m not up for sharing my face 😆 I don’t have the blazer, but I kinda regret that decision now.

Company who made them is Betabrand. They’re comfy!

The name of this pattern is "Houndstooth" in case you want a suit jacket with a bunch of stacked cats on it

[–] GraniteM@lemmy.world 29 points 1 month ago (1 children)

TIL that Houndstooth dates back to at least 360-100 BC.

That is absolutely incredible!

According to the Houndstooth Wikipedia article,

The oldest Bronze Age houndstooth textiles found so far are from the Hallstatt Celtic Salt Mine, Austria, 1500-1200 BC.

Mind-bending.

Edited because I forgot a word.

In German, it's Hahnentritt (roosters foot).

What we’ve got here is a mild case of cat brain

I've always seen those little plastic flippy frog toys you could get as a kid where you push your finger down on the back of them and when it slips off they bounce away

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That’s just Houndstooth.

[–] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 month ago

You know, I've seen houndstooth, but it's always been really small. This is the first time I saw it large like this.

Are those... magneto helmets?

[–] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago

Apparently it's a lot of things. Maybe why such a popular pattern.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

I see hounds teeth. Do you have one in ginham?

[–] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] lime@feddit.nu 2 points 1 month ago

that's probably because the word is gingham
