/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

I wonder if anyone in Starfleet has seen so much stuff in their time, that they can only get off by creating new and novel things to fuck in the holodeck. ๐Ÿค”

Now that's a Star Trek spinoff I'd watch

Sex Trek: The Next Gyration

Love that you left Kim's name alone

Are you sure about that? There's this Torchwood ep where they acknowledge that fact of human nature.

If the holodeck had existed in Kirk's time, there would have been a "sentient fuckbeast from Zeeblap-9 takes over the mainframe" scenario every week.

[โ€“] DontRedditMyLemmy@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago (3 children)

It did exist in Kirk's time, according to SNW (which is a rare example of that show that I did not appreciate)

wait, wasn't it new in TNG? holy retcons of khan

[โ€“] Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

New in TNG, but a couple years later in DS9 it's already well known that Quark runs holosuites

Ah yes well the reason behind that is Quark's Bar brand Root Beer. It's insidious! [please remit one slip one latinum for reading trademark]

It was also in the Animated Series, SNW only confirmed it.

I liked the reasoning that they gave. Tied the canonicity neatly together

Star Trek: Riker

I figured if anyone would know, it would be Lt. Barklay - he is always helping people write holodeck programs.

He...didn't answer.

We have that now, no need to wait for the future.

[โ€“] sundray@lemmus.org 49 points 3 days ago

In the future, people will have more open, healthy attitudes about the sexual needs of all sentient creatures.

And it's called the "Jorkodeck."

Rimmer World takes on a whole new meaning...

Ask Arnold, Arnold, Arnold Rimmer.

He's also a fantastic swimmer.

And if you play your cards right

Then he just might come round for "dinner".

I see you've played Hardcoded too...
