And by "Apocalypse now" they mean illustrating it with a scene where American soldiers massacre civilians.

Trump declares war on America

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 86 points 3 days ago (1 children)

No, that's not hyperbole

"Chicago [is] about to find out why it's called the Department of WAR," the post continued.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 48 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Are all the people who couldn't be bothered to vote happy now? Do they still think the democrats would have been just as bad?

[–] onslaught545@lemmy.zip 28 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Instead of one genocide we're getting two!

The chickens have come home to roost

You actually think those people watch the news and get accurate information? Misinformed people are always going to learn the wrong lesson.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 17 points 3 days ago

I am finding lately the news isn't talking about what I want it to talk about ie. The impending hostile invasion of Chicago. Also barely heard about the protests on labor day and am barely hearing about the concentration camps.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Some of them very much seem to be. I still hear ding-a-lings bitching about Biden (vague complaints that don't really name any single thing other than he wasn't in front of the cameras all the time like our narcissist in chief is these days and that he's old - but fuck, Taco is old as fuck, too and is crazy, and surrounds himself with crazy).

Others keep on supporting Taco because "he's not status quo" and he's "not a politician" and he's "shaking things up".

Yeah, full on fucking Civil War where millions end up dead is also not status quo, either, but what the fuckity fuck.

[–] WoodScientist@lemmy.world -5 points 2 days ago

If we have a civil war, Biden will be remembered as a Buchanon, a man too corrupt and craven to do what was necessary to stand for justice and prevent a civil war.

In about a month we'll see headlines about judges ruling that Trump's declaration of war against America is illegal but the war will rage on anyway

"He can't do the mass murder! That's unconstitutional!?!"

[–] Frozengyro@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I bet some congressmen will 'slam' him for it

[–] ProfThadBach@lemmy.world 40 points 3 days ago (2 children)

The blue state governors really need to activate their state guard units and prepare. In North Carolina the governor can call up all males between 18 and 60 into state duty. I don't think it has been done since the Civil War and I don't know about other states be the governors need to do something. I know Trump is looking for a reason to call for martial law but fuck me this has to end.

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Since the first civil war. The kiddie diddlers seem to be trying for a second one.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 32 points 3 days ago

The second Civil War has already started, I don't think we've realized yet. It's what Project 2025 calls for directly.

The Heritage Foundation's president, Kevin Roberts, called it a plan for "a second American Revolution" that would be "bloodless, if the Left allows it to be".

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 days ago

It sounds like Illinois at least might be prepared to do that

And yet, still not a distraction from all the child raping.

Gonna post the same thing here as I did in another post about this:

I once accidentally scheduled a vacation to Chicago during Mexican Independence Day, which apparently is a huge deal in Chicago. When I got there, the entire downtown area was completely shut down as Mexicans had been roaring up and down every street in trucks for the last two days. The Chicago PD had blockaded every exit off the highway within two miles of downtown to try and stop it. It didn't- it just limited them to doing it on the highway breakdown lanes and the actual fucking grass medians.

The moral of the story? If the above is what the Mexican population of Chicago does for fun, I'd dread to see what they do in the face of an actual threat.

It is a declaration of civil war by the President.

[–] DmMacniel@feddit.org 10 points 3 days ago (2 children)

The south rises again and the war between North and South was just on hiatus.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 10 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

Why isn't CNN talking about this right now? They're talking about the mayor election in New York

Update: CNN is talking about it now, approximately 8:08, Newfoundland time

[–] Goretantath@lemmy.world 15 points 3 days ago (1 children)

CNN is owned by a republican.

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

All of MSM is owned by billionaires, or their puppets. It's a big club, and you ain't in it.

[–] DmMacniel@feddit.org 5 points 3 days ago

I can't tell you that, I only get my US related news through here. But everyone should report on this to make these heinous acts visible.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Trump isn't a Southerner. Don't try to pin this shit on us!

[–] DmMacniel@feddit.org 5 points 3 days ago

Yeah he ain't, but the south really likes to rally behind him.

[–] WoodScientist@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He lives in Florida. He's a Southerner. At least in spirit if not by birth.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Palm Beach doesn't count. There's a saying about Florida, and it's absolutely true: "the further South you go, the further North you get."

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I was hoping it was the part with Marlon Brando

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago

The illusion of heroism and patriotism in the American military, perpetuated by Hollywood, was nothing but propaganda.

The entire military industrial complex and surveillance state (secret police, aka "intelligence") has done nothing to stop the rise of fascism, or its domestic terrorists, including Trump. As many of us have long warned, both were likely the attack vector that enabled the cancer of fascism to grow and fester deep within government, hidden from the populace under a thick secrecy of "national security".

The mayor has dark skin. Its a Democratic state. Its where African-Americans ran to avoid lyching when Trump was young. Its a place Americans are likely to pass through if we need to flee the country

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Massive overkill from Trump.

From a very, very white guy: CHINGA LA MIGRA!!!!
