He claims he was in the midst of rescuing a women who had just experienced domestic violence, then after saving her he got into his car and was immediately rear-ended.
Which is probably about as true as big balls getting randomly attacked by two minor children in an area known for prostitution at like 2am.

The man is fucking 81. Even if he were perfectly healthy, it sounds like there would be permanent injuries. He's going to be in really rough shape and likely never fully recovers, if I had to guess.
Also, 81 year olds probably shouldn't be on the damn road! It makes it sound like it wasn't his fault, but I'm willing to bet it was. He probably didn't even notice the other vehicle and re-entered the highway at low speed right in front of it.
