Is this how you make centrists?

[–] fossilesque@mander.xyz 0 points 1 week ago

That doesn't explain their backward movement.

[–] wewbull@feddit.uk 0 points 1 week ago

The centre would need to be somewhere between them for this to work. Insanely Capitalist merged with a bit more moderate capitalist... The best you can hope for is toxic goo.

No, it's just fun to watch them annihilate.

We Europeans offer the use of CERN at no cost for this purpose. With the only condition that you'll need to find a way to get rid of the toxic purple sludge somewhere far away.

I get the impression that things accelerated to the velocities required by CERN that then collide with each other tend not to leave much of anything behind but fundamental particles.

Matter can not be destroyed

[–] Eheran@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He is essentially correct though, there is nothing organic or generally any compound remaining, only many singular particles. It is like an extremely hot plasma.

[–] n3m37h@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Again matter cannot be destroyed, it was converted into heat/light.

[–] Eheran@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That is not what he said and that's also not what happens.

[–] n3m37h@sh.itjust.works 0 points 5 days ago

Then please tell me on how physics works then

[–] Midnitte@beehaw.org 0 points 1 week ago

fundamental particles.

Actually, they're not fundamental particles until approved by a collision with the Senate

I thoroughly support this initiative

This is how you make unstable elementary political partycles like trivumerons.

Connecting the horse shoe

[–] Inucune@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wouldn't this just end up with a cloud of Overton particles?

A smattering of fucktrino and douchtrons, with an ensuing Asshole where not even shit escapes.

[–] SARGE@startrek.website 0 points 1 week ago

Do iiiiiiiiiit.

Let's do it.

Let's fucking do it.

I think we should do it.

[–] halvar@lemy.lol 0 points 1 week ago

something tells me american politivs would be much better if this really was the case

Joking aside, if you had enough energy to accelerate the mass of a human body to near light speed, the resulting collision would destroy the planet..... as opposed to their political beliefs and corruption destroying the planet.

[–] Gustephan@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

I still vote we do it. Guaranteed Nature publication for whoever figures out the infrastructure required to pull it off

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This would create the Antipresident

[–] not_woody_shaw@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

Another one?

[–] avidamoeba@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 week ago

An entirely theoretical experiment since in reality they rarey collide. 😄

[–] salty_chief@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

Weirdly enough that is how Trump was made.
