Among the most racist in Europe, and that's quite an accomplishment

This is the future of European politics. Far right parties are fueled entirely by anti immigration sentiment. This basically neutralizes them while keeping the popular all the popular progressive policies.

I was recently talking to someone from Denmark giving me shit because I was in the US and how great Denmark was. Hahahahaha you suck tooooooo

What's happening in the the US and in Denmark is completely different

No one is comparing them exactly. But Denmark isn’t the wonderland some people think it is.

Isn't Denmark the 2nd happiest country in the world?

What country is significantly better than Denmark and why?

[–] marsza@lemmy.cafe 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is not about how happy people are.

However, which one is the happiest?

What is it about then? Shouldn't a government prioritise their citizens?
(Note, I'm a immigrant myself living in a different continent to where I grew up)

So I guess a country’s happiness rating isn’t exactly proportional to its acceptance of immigrants.

Yes I get that, but you said that Denmark isn't a wonderland. It's basically as close to a wonderland as we've got.

I was born and raised in Africa, I migrated to a neighbouring country of Belgium ~4 years ago

How does it feel knowing that at any point now you will be returned to Africa? That fascism is inches away from even Denmark and Norway.

I am left leaning myself, and I hate that the far right is growing so much in Europe, but that will continue as long as we ignore what fuels the right.

Being deported at any point? That's simply not true. I contribute a lot to the economy, and so does many of my fellow migrants working here. (labour shortage)
If I stop being a positive contribution to their country, why shouldn't they send me back?

They don't owe me anything, I am here because it benefits me, if they didn't allow me in I'd look for another country that would, or I'd go back home.

I contribute a lot to the economy

I’m laughing hard.

I wish you the best though, I hope you’re white with blonde hair.

What's that supposed to mean?
