Translation: Trump's brownshirts are going to kidnap American citizens that lost a roof over their heads to private capital firms and put them in concentration camps to be enslaved until they die.

I know that most Americans struggle to read beyond a level that most 11 year olds elsewhere can, but come on - surely they've seen the history channel or at least heard of the Holocaust? In the country with the most well-armed civilian population in the world, how much more of this shit are you people going to take?

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 35 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Any American who thinks this is the line and that they will stop at homeless people and never target anyone like you: you are sorely mistaken.

[–] brown567@sh.itjust.works 17 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It's not even really a line! Most Americans are only a few bad days away from being homeless themselves

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

It's so they can pick and choose who to vilify at will

[–] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 26 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Have you seen the "history channel" lately? It's like 5% history and the rest is all Ice Road Truckers, Ancient Aliens, etc.

[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Dont even look at the "learning" channel if you want to keep some semblance of sanity.

[–] dickalan@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Such a shame, it was started by NASA and turned into that

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 7 points 3 days ago

Ancient Aliens, the show that relies on the assumption that throughout most of history humans have been too stupid to do anything unassisted. Given how stupid the general population is today, maybe they have a point

[–] HobbitFoot@thelemmy.club 6 points 3 days ago

They should have kept being the WWII channel.

[–] loaf@sh.itjust.works 11 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I don’t understand it, either. I know some people can feel helpless against a government, but something has to be done.

Ah, yes, something will fix this any day now. I mean, what do you suggest I do all by my lonesome? Hold a sign? The reality is that things will continue to get worse until a tragic event galvanizes people in to action. Until then we are all isolated. How are you going to coordinate any sort of movement against the government in a surveillance state with the most powerful military and police in the world? They were taking out progressive leaders like MLK and Malcolm X well before the internet made it so much easier to track people.

This post here probably communicates my point more effectively:

collapsed inline media

[–] loaf@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 days ago

I mean, what do you suggest I do all by my lonesome?

Nothing alone. When we fight alone, we lose. Organization is key.

I’m currently working with two organizations trying to do anything and everything we can do to help. It’s small, but it’s something.

Don’t try to do it alone, please.

For all your bluster Americans are such weak little babies when it comes down to it. Maybe that is why they need their guns to feel safe.

[–] moncharleskey@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 days ago

How many times have you stood up to your government and brought about change? Easier said than done, especially here where they have little qualms about using the police and military to viilent stamp out any sort of leftist movement. I'm sorry that I'm hoping there may be a way out of this that includes me still being here for my spouse and young kids.

[–] dickalan@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Fucking Europeans laughing at the demise of America make me sick. Take your bad attitude the fuck out of this area dip shit

[–] OutlierBlue@lemmy.ca -1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

"It's hard so don't do anything" is a terrible outlook.

Good thing that's not what they're saying at all.

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 days ago

The history channel? You mean the one with the mermaid, dragon and aliens documentaries? I'm sure they've watched it.

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 94 points 3 days ago

The king doesn’t want to see the poors. The king wants to rape the children.

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 59 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

Rich old man stops his armoured limo to yell at homeless people.

He's reaching cartoon levels of villainy now.

[–] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 25 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Dude is several documented decades in actually

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 16 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

Didn't he take out a full page ad in the 80's or 90's, calling for black kids to be imprisoned for a crime they didn't commit?

Literally decades of being a cunt 24/7.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

It's been most of his life. And he's getting up there

[–] molten@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

I was just thinking that this one. This one for sure. Onion article. This is such a farce. If I were religious I'd say god chose this multiverse to be a parody of the others for his own entertainment.

[–] HuskerNation@lemmy.zip 39 points 3 days ago (1 children)

If those McDonald's burgers he loves so much could start doing their job and give him the most painful stroke possible followed with a massive heart attack, that would be great.

[–] 60d@lemmy.ca 16 points 3 days ago

In America even the burgers are lazy, lmao.

[–] heyWhatsay@slrpnk.net 33 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He sure is trying to flex a police state

[–] OutlierBlue@lemmy.ca 15 points 3 days ago

We haven't seen anything yet. The concentration camps are only just starting.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 19 points 3 days ago

That headline reads like The Onion

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago
[–] NochMehrG@feddit.org 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

As shitty as that is of him, this is sadly what often happens with homeless people or people with substance abuse problems. Push them away, so people no longer see the problems that society should try to help with. Which by the way is something a government should do. So a president who sees a lot of homeless people on his daily routes could get the idea that his government should do something? Well unsurprisingly, not this one..

He's getting lots of ideas that his government should do something about homeless people. Unfortunately those ideas are all horribly evil.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago
[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

Oh thats the guardian not the Onion, that's unfortunate

[–] danekrae@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago

Arbeit macht frei!

[–] HexadecimalSky@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago

Really trying to make america great agian /j This headline made me remember about that time a bunch of freedmen flocked to Washington rallying under Lincoln but he was 0% on thier side and ordered the national gaurd to tear down thier shanty towns and run them out of Washington.

[–] RockBottom@feddit.org 8 points 3 days ago

what a „problem solver“.

[–] fulcrummed@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Did someone just turn up the contrast or does he have a black eye covered up in that photo?

Seems almost like it was a small, child-like fist that hit him.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 6 points 3 days ago

Now he can just block roads, raid innocent politic....hmm raid politicians' homes, etc.
