If you believe J.D. Vance, Donald Trump wants “full transparency” when it comes to the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking case. Of course, if that were true, we’d know what the Epstein files say about the president and others who were close with the billionaire who trafficked underage girls.

Normalize calling them the Trump/Epstein Files

[–] jason@discuss.online 2 points 2 days ago

Yes. Someone more creative than me should make a funny Richard Stallman copy pasta out of this.

[–] WatDabney@lemmy.dbzer0.com 75 points 2 days ago (4 children)

That's not just a likely lie - it's an entirely self-evident and certain lie.

There's nothing - not one single thing - that's standing in Trump's way. If he actually wanted full transparency, that's what we'd have, immediately and effortlessly. So it can only be the case that that's a lie - it's literally impossible for it to actually be the truth.

Ironically, it was Trump himself set precedent when he released the JFK and MLK files.

“The people in power don’t want you to know these things!”

“Sir, you are literally the president and have control over, or have proven you can ignore, most branches of the government.”

“Shhhhhhhhhhhh”

[–] griff@lemmings.world 8 points 2 days ago

He alone can solve this problem

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

There would be many manila folders, and this time they could be filled with things other than blank paper!

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

"I was elected to lead, not to read."

[–] Theprogressivist@lemmy.world 53 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Is that why the FBI redacted Donnie's name from the list?

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Yes, but—full transparency—they didn’t hide the redaction.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

They don't need to hide the redaction, they just need a global Search Replace with "Bill Clinton" for "Donald Trump"....

[–] griff@lemmings.world 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

One thousand FBI agents covering one mighty felon’s butt

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago

To be fair, it's not a small butt.

[–] shittydwarf@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

They only had 1000+ agents working on the redactions...

Does his head grow every time he lies?

Do you know what, "grow" means?

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Listen, we're all trying to find the guy who did this.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

If the glove doesn't fit you must acquit

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 18 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I sincerely believe this means that they're going to release Epstein documents very soon. I also think they're going to claim everything is unedited and totally transparent. And I think that every single inch of every single document will have been fucked with beyond recognition.

Get ready for Epstein to have been incredibly close friends with all of Trump's enemies.

[–] athairmor@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It could be a stall tactic. Keep saying the right things but never do anything and hope that people get distracted or bored. They can hope that people have limited tolerance for the same subject being brought up again and again.

[–] OutlierBlue@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 days ago

Like his tax returns.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And they'll produce the phony documents in such a shoddy way that it'll take under a day to detect that they're fake. And then they'll double down.

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Disbelievers and heretics get their city a visit from Marshalla.

The guy who complains when anyone even TALKS about it... the one that said that the stuff in the case files (produced under his administration) was mostly phony... the one who tried to keep the Wall Street Journal from releasing the fact that he had a creepy cryptically worded birthday letter with a drawn named woman on it given to Epstein, and then punitively sued them after they published anyway... the one who instructed his fixer to have a closed door, private meeting with Epstein's assistant who is convicted for the same crimes Epstein committed, who has perjured herself to avoid trouble before, who clearly got better accommodations in a lower security prison as a result of some undisclosed deal with this fixer and Trump, and who needs only to please Trump, who is heavily implicated in her crimes, to get herself a full pardon... HE wants full transparency... yeah... that makes sense.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 16 points 2 days ago

The only transparency FatDonnie wants is the transparency of little girls underwear. Human trafficking and abuse need to be exposed.

RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Oh, he wants "full transparency" on the files he pretended didn't exist, and then pretended that nobody cared about and that everyone should stop talking about, and that he had the FBI scramble to flag every paper that contained his name, and had congress shut down early to avoid a vote on the release of the files, and that he claims that his name was planted in, and that he had people redact his name from it, and had tampered with a key witness on the case, and that he's STILL NOT RELEASING AFTER ALL THAT TIME OF HIS OWN SUPPORTERS DEMANDING IT?

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

He doesn't need his supporters anymore. If he stays President past his term end he won't need their votes to do it.

Fucking hell they really are going all in on the große Lüge

[–] itisileclerk@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

He is apsolutly right, Full transparency means invisibility, so it's not visible and there's nothing to talk about, it doesn't exist.

They’re blaming Biden for not releasing them. Do they think people forgot trump is currently president? Who cares why Biden didn’t, he’s not president anymore and if he’s shady for not releasing them? Release the files and Prove it.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 days ago

"My first thought was, he lied in every word, That hoary cripple, with malicious eye Askance to watch the workings of his lie"

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 8 points 2 days ago

Full transparency would be releasing the Epstein Report. Uncensored.

[–] lack@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

Vance is trying to distract from the fact that trumps name graces nearly every page of the Epstein files?

[–] N0body@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 2 days ago

Is Trump trying to use Vance’s complete and utter lack of charisma to kill the Epstein story? Make every response as dry as trying to fuck a couch cushion.

Interesting strategy from Trump, but I wonder if Vance’s handlers like making him the face of the Epstein coverup.

Hilarious! Good one, Vance!

He is a true student of his orange god. Likely never be the consummate liar the master is but he approaches closer with each utterance

[–] Marshezezz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 days ago

We all know he just oils satans asshole up to ready it for trumps baby dick
