Yeah should have been done a long time ago, but Canada had to wait to see what everyone else is doing first.

Shame on all governments and world leaders for allowing and in some cases assisting in this tragedy.

All these leaders wouldn’t be doing this, if 1) it already wasn’t too late, and 2) they weren’t permitted (or recommended) to do so. No country is led by free men.

And they will plan it even stronger if Israel doesn’t start to genocide slower.

I know, by itself it's insufficient, it is a step in the right direction though, albeit a small one

I love that everyone's recognizing it the second that 99% of the people there are going to die of starvation because its already at the point that its irreversible

Preemptive land acknowledgement.

Just in time for checks watch a decade or two (if not three) after any hope of a viable two state solution has been thoroughly proven impossible by the actions of the West's favorite fascist apartheid regime.

If you think that being an officially recognized country would protect Palestinians from being oppressed and massacred by Israel, I have some oceanfront condominiums in the Golan Heights to sell you.

In addition to recognizing Palestine, all countries should drop recognition of Israel and recognise the presence of Israelis in Palestine as being illegitimate.

The Israelis will cry about anti-semitism, but I think more and more people in the world recognize this trick and are not going to buy it.

Good idea. There are many countries that don't recognise the settler colony and even some that have unrecognised it, like Iran.

Nice to know that it only takes billions of dollars worth of tariffs for the country of Canada to act ..... or 50,000 dead people that didn't have to die, as well as tens of thousands more that are near starving to death.

It won't happen , hamas with not drop arms

Finally someone read the article.

Canada said its recognition is "predicated on the Palestinian Authority's commitment to much-needed reforms, including the commitments by Palestinian Authority President [Mahmoud] Abbas to fundamentally reform its governance, to hold general elections in 2026 in which Hamas can play no part, and to demilitarize the Palestinian state."

Hamas must also immediately release all hostages taken in the Oct. 7, 2023, terror attacks on Israel, disarm and "play no role in the future governance of Palestine," Carney reiterated.

lol. Yeah, the chances of all that happening? Nil. I do think would likely be a move in the right direction, but it will not happen. This is basically an attempt to blame-shift.

Considering Britain and France helped oversee the Mandate of Palestine, this seems like this circumstance should have already been a thing

They didn't give a shit about the natives then and they don't give a shit about them now, but images of skeletal children on social media are lowering the tone and making it harder to gaslight the sheep with Zionist propaganda.
