Might be an unpopular opinion, but Kjhima is massively overrated and his games overhyped.
If the story doesn't make sense, "well it's Kojima" isn't a proper response.
Anyways, not every game is for everyone, so have fun with it!

I understand why the games aren't for everyone, but they are for me lol. The way he created the "strand contract" system was like crack to me, and it seems like they've only improved it for the second game.
The story is nonsense pretty much lol. Don't care.
The story is good.... It doesn't make sense at first because it's so complex. Kojima likes making complex stories, he did the same thing with Metal Gear. The story was my favorite part of Death Stranding.
I wasn't a huge fan of the end of the first game...

Things didn't really make sense until the ending, which was like 90+ minutes of lackluster shooting and exposition dump of "here's what's actually happening, doesn't it all make sense now?" shit. Without that exposition in the literal ending cutscene, you would have no idea what the game was about. That's kind of bad storytelling imo.
I actually just really like the gameplay lol. Just started the second game and enjoying it so far.
Lots of cool shit happens and some big concepts are being discussed. But, basically, the whole thing boils down to, "Higgs is a jackass."
Don't know about the story but I played death stranding 1 and really enjoyed it, it's just well made that's all
I agree he's a hack, but his games are always fun for me.
