A "fiscal conservative" is like the parent who tells their kid they can have ice cream, drives them there, let's them order...

Then doesn't pay for it so the guy at the counter throws it away.

If they were really "fiscally conservative" they'd want to tax the wealthy like we did even under Reagan. Like, there's nothing wrong with balancing the budget, they just refuse to tax the fucking wealthy to accomplish it.

They do exist, but seemingly not in the US anymore. In Canada we call them Progressive Conservatives (basically "be as gay as you want but don't raise my taxes") and they're becoming a dying breed too.

Sure, sure, and if only I just took a trip to transylvania I would see dracula, no doubt.

It's true, we really do have them! There was even a gay progressive conservative premier (governor equivalent) in my province.

What they say is "I don't like spending money."

What they mean is "I don't like spending my money, but I love spending yours."

The ideology is real, the representation is virtually non-existent. One can support human rights and social programs while standing firmly against governmental expansion, private sector subsidies, and business tax credits. You just won’t have anyone to represent you in most governments.

This does not fit into any iteration of America conservatism

I’m referring to the political ideology. It’s not exclusive to the US.
