Here's a cheat card to understanding rightwing politics: different religion? BAD. Different skin color? VERY BAD. Different skin color and religion? TERRORISM AGAINST WHITE BOIS!!!!
That is the lower level. Unsurprisingly right wing politics is hierarchical. The upper level is rich people using the rhetorics of that hate to convince poor people to vote for them, so they can grift to their hearts content.
upper level = grift lower level = bigotry
Of course the upper levellers can still adhere to the bigotry, but the grift always comes first.

That's what drives me up the wall the most! They're so lost in words, they forgo reality entirely.
Me too, it's so infuriating. Like, you only have to SAY you're Christian for these people to think you're 'a very good person'. Once that label is connected to you you can do whatever the fuck you want and nothing changes in their eyes.

I say that as a regular church attender. People who feel the need advertise their religion as a means to make money are almost never sincere about their "beliefs."

Ruined. I used to be able to fantasize over Jabba The Hut, now I can't un-see Trump's face on him.
I think that's Trump's fault for cultivating an image of a slovenly, gluttonous blob of malice and stupidity. He was Jabba embodied long before now. The biggest differences between them is that Jabba was a smart and successful businessman, illegal as most of it may have been.
