I thought this would've been the case almost 10 years ago. Especially when streaming wasn't littered with ads.

Makes sense to me that streaming would get worse only after it managed to capture that market.
I'd guess that the stats were thrown off every small business that has an annoying TV blaring in the background
It's based on Neilson ratings so it's entirely dependent on whatever methodology they choose to use at the time. They can't actually directly count what every TV is tuned to.

I get live television through Sling. Piracy doesn't really work if you want live TV.
Use an antenna and a HDHomeRun. I can watch our local channels directly through Plex.
CNN is not an antenna station. :)
Just break into the studio to watch them film the show in person. 😌
Honestly, I'm a little surprised that it's taken this long to accomplish that.
that's why it's almost as shitty as TV now
Network TV still has a huge benefit: it's not capable of watching you.
(Not accounting for the smart TVs, which are basically the only kind of TV you can buy now.)
