I visited the US once over a decade ago for a job interview.. Never have I felt more unwelcome in my life. Border control in the US are absolute assholes, significantly worse than anywhere else.. Cannot imagine what a shit experience it must be now.

Yeah border control there are insane. My partner (who is half American but has always lived in the UK) and I flew to Canada and met his family at the airport, who drove us over the border to where they live in the US (their nearest airport was in Canada) and we got interrogated at the border because they couldn't understand how they could be related when he had a British accent lol. With a wall of guns behind them. Absolutely insane place.

Try to choose less traveled destinations. I live in a touristy city and I would be really happy if the number of tourists dropped by 80%.

Found out Paris has a Disney Land, so we're going there instead of the US from Canada.

Since Europe also had a great train network, we can also hit up Spain easy!

Unless you'd prefer the beach and ocean, then somewhere like Prince Edward Island (PEI) is great, lots of fresh seafood:

Canada shouldn't be forgotten about because the USA is being, well, you know.
