God this would be so funny if it was true.
It is true. And it's not just Uber.
Wasn't this true in the us?
I thought so to, but I guess it was Door Dash https://9to5mac.com/2023/05/19/doordash-charges-iphone-users-more-than-android-users-lawsuit-alleges/. Also something about using a Mac to book travel https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-18595347
I was in the US two weeks ago and went up and down with Uber. Five families, two with iPhones and three with Androids. I didn’t notice anything special. In fact, I took a ride cheaper than my Android friend. We were going back to the airport and to a certain terminal. They wanted to go to another. When he decided to change to my terminal, the price lowered to mine.
This is so true. Recently a new quick commerce app, Zepto have started operation in my area. For customer acquisition they hand out 100 inr off. I with my android have received a lot of them in couple of past weeks but my roommate with an iPhone has received few and far between.
This is also the case of all the quick commerce apps here in India.
