Just what we need more Nazis.

[–] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 62 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh good they are going to import nazis now.

[–] leftzero@lemmynsfw.com 2 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

I mean, gathering them all in the same place, especially one where they're likely to die of bird flu, measles (and who knows what else Kennedy is brewing there), gun violence, and lack of affordable healthcare, sounds great from the rest of the world's perspective... (of course it's horrible from the USA's perspective, but what isn't, these days..?); do the AFD next!

[–] Rookwood@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 17 hours ago

I think you forget that they are being imported to the nation with the most powerful military on Earth.

From what affliction are these people seeking refuge?

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 10 points 21 hours ago

simple, from "not being the majority ruling class in government, policy and wealth extraction"

At my last job we had a sales contact that lived in South Africa (he's white). At one point a few years ago he dropped off the radar, and we finally heard from him about 6 months later. He had picked up his family and moved to England. Left most of their possessions, abandoned the house, etc. He said things were getting too lawless and felt they had to leave immediately.

I also have a friend who's from South Africa (also white) who has most of her family back in South Africa, and the stories I hear are chilling. I don't know this, but it seems like things have been going downhill fast for the past 5 or 6 years now (faster than before).

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 5 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

why obfuscate the real reason he left.

[–] CeeBee_Eh@lemmy.world 2 points 17 hours ago

I don't know the reason. I don't know him personally. Only ever met him over calls.

[–] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 0 points 20 hours ago

We all know why.

[–] Rookwood@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 17 hours ago

Extremely vague and therefore bullshit.

[–] k0e3@lemmy.ca 0 points 14 hours ago

That's way too many words to say, "I dunno."

[–] dan1101@lemm.ee 44 points 1 day ago

Let's see what well-known controversial figure is from South Africa and seems to have a lot of influence or leverage over the president? Hmm.

This is the stupidest timeline.

[–] Stamau123@lemmy.world 33 points 1 day ago

'refugees' fuck off

[–] skvlp@lemm.ee 24 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Do they "deserve a safe haven in the US" because people are rightfully cross with them where they’re currently residing?

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 19 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

I don't know these particular individuals but I've met my fair share of South African white supremacists and I believe they're just about the scariest ones. They genuinely see black people as subhuman animals. Like genuinely. They show each other clips of lynchings for amusement. And it's not just to be edgy. They're hateful beyond any comprehension. They also don't hide their beliefs at all. Idk if they're being sent over to bolster the brownshirt ranks but it's not good news at any rate.

[–] skvlp@lemm.ee 1 points 14 hours ago

We still have a long way to go.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 3 points 21 hours ago

thier support of apartheid hasnt done them any favors. and 1 came over and destroyed the country.

America will finally be the Germanic/Western European ethnostate it was always meant to be. No wonder the US and Israel are so alike, lol, they share the same DNA!

"Bring us your mouth-breathers, your incels, your neckbeards..."

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 15 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Are there even enough trailer parks to house these people?

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

Nope, real estate hawks have been raising the prices and forcing everyone out of the trailer parks so they can redevelop them into condos.

I am sure there are some depressed areas that would be able to house them in shitholes like Mississippi.

Won't they be surprised to have a bunch of criminal white folks moving into their neighborhoods. What could possibly go wrong.

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They are probably going to experience some intense culture shock. They may be white on the outside, but old school white supremacists here don't take kindly to accents that identify you as an outsider, even if they are being used as pawns by one particular group of supremacists. 'Go back where you came from or else' is their rallying cry, even if you are born in the US.

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Surprisingly, a lot of the white nationalist organs here in the US have VERY intimate contact with white national South African groups. I'm wondering how many of them are coming here to avoid getting caught in government dragnets in SA. Lots of the bombmaking know-how and quite a lot of weapons flowed into South Africa during the fight to keep apartheid from the 60s-90s (and now the fight to either topple the post-apartheid government or create a separatist state where they can institute apartheid), and much of THAT was supplied by contacts in the American KKK. Weird Little Guys did an incredible deep dive on the interlinking of the white nationalist movement internationally with white South African resistance to the ANC and the DeClerc and post-DeClerc governments.

[–] dylanmorgan@slrpnk.net 14 points 1 day ago

The podcast Weird Little Guys just concluded a long series of episodes about the weird bullshit leading up to this.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemm.ee 12 points 1 day ago

They’re not sending their best.

[–] gradual@lemmings.world 11 points 19 hours ago

Strange how they only allow white people.

[–] shittydwarf@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 day ago

[–] Auntievenim@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Great, now americans need to learn about necklacing

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 3 points 1 day ago

Please don't give us any ideas.

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

But Nazis need necklaces. It's tradition!

[–] Regna@lemmy.world 6 points 21 hours ago

Seems like there’s space for them in El Salvador.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 5 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)
