Since the warm summer months are coming there'll be people needing to buy fans once again and I'm here to suggest the Dutch brand "Duux"

After getting it recommended by a friend I bought myself a Duux Whisper 2. Its really quiet and of great quality + has an app integration.

They also have air cleaners, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, mobile airconditioners and heaters!

I'm sorry, but why does a fan need an app?

[โ€“] nillopillo180@lemm.ee 6 points 12 hours ago

To justify a higher price of course :)

Idk, I personally don't use it but I know some people see it as a plus so I mentioned it

โ‚ฌ180 for a fan? For a tiny motor and a plastic fan blade. Jesus Christ. They wouldn't be in business if people didn't buy this crap as well, what the hell?

A fan is like the most basic of electrical products out there, it doesn't need to cost a fortune just to make some plastic spin round

as an app integration.

Pass.

The fact that it has a processor in there at all would be a red flag for me. A fan should just be a dead simple electric device, no electronics involved.

You mean no software involved, right?

That too but I mean no microprocessors at all really, just an electric motor that has one or more circuits it can be activated by to spin at different speeds, not much more complicated than a light switch and probably simpler than a dimmer light switch since it only needs a few speed steps. Usually with a mechanical way to pop out the other buttons if a new one is pressed.
