Really cool, I hope to remember it next time I'm starting a game.
The entry for Outer Wilds should just read “nothing. Don’t try to learn anything about this game before playing”.
I love the idea behind this and I hope it grows into a huge, well-edited and reliable database over time.
Agreed! I've remembered to check it a a couple times before starting things, and sometimes it's useful stuff, sometimes there's not even a page for the game, other times it might look like the tips were just from one person with little editing/revision. But the idea behind it is spot on.
Yeah, I looked up the page for Disco Elysium as a test and found it to be exactly as you described: a mix of useful tips, slightly over-prescriptive borderline spoilers, certain unnecessary tips - and all of it most certainly by a single user.
Still, the thought is coming from the right place and there are definitely many games that could benefit from this kind of briefing if done right.
