Canadian mining companies are amongst the most hated in the world and they give Canada a really bad name.

Yup. In my imaginary world companies (usually from rich Westernized nations) operating in foreign nations MUST follow the rules of their nation of origin ... because there's no fucking way they get away with some of the shit they've pulled and walked away from.

So, this is some kind of "model UN" thing?

Sure looks like it.

The Tribunal was created in 2014 to bring a new approach to international environmental law, modelled on approaches to war crimes and human rights. Although the tribunalโ€™s rulings are non-binding, they have a track record of impacting outcomes on the ground.

Good. The way Canadian mining companies treat the rest of the world is a scandal.
