I truly don't understand how you can be 33 and not know that jello shots typically contain alcohol, especially because they were probably expensive!

This may come as a surprise, but stupid does not discriminate by how old someone is.

You're right, I am often surprised by how some people have made it to 50-60 years old without a caretaker.

The really scary part is their vote counts as much as yours does.

Some of these people live in a surprisingly tiny bubble their entire lives. It's shocking if you ever meet and talk to one.

How to test if a teacher is an alcoholic:

A teacher told police that two other teachers tried the shots and said they believed the shots contained alcohol. The teacher tried one herself but couldn't tell because of the flavor, police said.

Ehh, says more to how it's made to me. Same thing with cocktails. Usually not a whole lot of alcohol so you end up tasting everything else way more.

How and why the fuck is liquor being sold on Facebook? No licenses? Fucking absurd

[–] Kookie215@lemmy.world 24 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

People literally sell plates of food from their dirty kitchens on Marketplace. I've seen it, wild prices too, like $15 for a BBQ plate.

[–] Haess@lemmynsfw.com 9 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I honestly have not used it so this is just.. Astounding

A lot of low income people will use their food stamps to buy food and then make "plates" of food and sell them to convert food stamps into cash. Less shady and illegal than using a independant convenience store or bodega to make "withdrawals" from your food stamp account.

Another version of this is people waiting at gas stations offering to buy your gas if you pay them in cash, while taking a discount obviously.

They get cash, you get cheaper gas. Ive never accepted the offer, but been solicited several times

Its crazy. I used to buy edibles off someone I seen advertising on Facebook myself. They sold them on Etsy.

Do they deliver? Or is it pickup only?

[–] Kookie215@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

I got mine delivered, but they also had a local pickup option. The "company" is in a legal state, I lived in a different state where its not legal, they didn't care.

I feel like an asshole but it was hard not to laugh a little bit when you read that article.

[–] FrowingFostek@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

It's a lil fucked but, this is legit comic relief in comparison to all the other headlines NGL

This sounds way more Florida than Texas.

Florida Man and Texas Woman: A match made in Hell.

[–] Yawweee877h444@lemmy.world 10 points 3 weeks ago

It's mildly possible she's just dumb, and thought they were only jello. She's a Texas mom. Some of these people live in a tiny bubble. She might be dumbfounded to find out jello shots usually contain alcohol. Just sayin'.

Otherwise, knowingly bringing alcohol to 5th graders...? I got nothin.
