Is there an instance specific to outdoor/nature communities?

Edit: Sorry I didn't specify it enough. I thought more about backpacking, camping, outdoor gear, ultralight, and so on. I really miss something like r/ultralight or r/CampingAndHiking on the fediverse.

You can check https://slrpnk.net/ and the communities hosted there.

In general, it has a broader environmentalist and anarchist vibe. It has many communities focused on outdoors, nature, gardening, DIY, etc.

Thank you but I thought about backpacking, camping, outdoor gear, ultralight. I don't know if slrpnk is for that?

https://slrpnk.net/, i guess. It's mainly anarchist but it should be fine

Thank you but I thought about outdoor recreation and not just nature. Sorry I didn't specify that.

In addition to https://slrpnk.net/ which I will endorse, there’s also https://mander.xyz/ which is focused on natural sciences but includes plenty of nature focused communities as well.

That would be more to enjoy nature pictures and not talk about camping and backpacking I suppose? But thank you for pointing out!

I don’t think there is any such instance but there are similar communities: !outdoor@slrpnk.net

There are some nature pics since that’s an easy type of content for a less busy community but also some people posting about outdoor recreation.

My nature forumverse feed (just appreciation themed here)

and outdoors feed. More hobbyist themed.

What are these feeds? How come they are multiple communities in one feed?

Are you familiar with piefeds feed function?

I'm building a big nested feed system of all lemmy communities.

Sadly, there's hardly anything here, here are some relevant communities:

!camping@sh.itjust.works
This is sadly the most "active" comm i guess, i liked posting there.
!outdoor@slrpnk.net
I wanted to say there's hardly any original content there, but it seems like it picked up a little lately.
!outdoors@lemmy.ca
Not much going on.
!bicycle_touring@lemmy.world
Not hiking, but camping and outdoors.
!caminodesantiago@jlai.lu
Basically ran by a single person, but i guess there's going to be some 70 more posts coming, haha.
!ultralight@lemmy.world
Dead. But it looks like somebody posted something three weeks ago, no reactions though :(

There's some more or less dead hiking communities too. That's all i got.

!outdoors@lemmy.ca Not much going on.

@otter@lemmy.ca , should this be locked and redirect to !outdoor@slrpnk.net ?

[–] otter@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

Sure I can do that :)

I'll message the mod now and see if there is a response, and then redirect it if I don't hear back
