Tech guy here. Really wish we could specify the corpo nepobabies from the normal tech enthusiasts. from my personal perspective, the two groups have long been at war. With musk types bluffing their way to a world where everyone believes they are actually capable, rather than just failing upwards like every nepobaby. The best techies are usually doing underappreciated open source work because the world needs it. Anti-intellectualism is not a win against the anti education cult. Just my two cents.
Yeah that's well put, a tech enthusiast to me is far from a tech bro though.
It's weird for a long time I always thought that silicon valley was a liberals wet dream. Now in the last year or so, I've come to realize that is not the case. They are all about control.
The owners are chasing money. The workers are fairly progressive

Wow, I thought they were trying to be subtle about it. Well hopefully this backfires badly for them.
Canadians keep voting for Conservatives. Conservatives can't be trusted not to sell the country out for personal profit.
With Drug Fraud's election Ontario will be Canada's bellwether for what can (or will) happen.
Our healthcare system is already struggling badly. Voters just opted to finish it off. I don't understand it when you only have to look next door to see the effects of healthcare privatization.
Manitoba's healthcare system is far better than it was 2 years ago, thanks to us electing the NDP back into power.
Other provinces should think about that before voting in Cons/UCP again.
People are selfish. They think they'll be able to afford privatized health care (and maybe some of them will), but mostly I think people just don't give a fuck about anyone but themselves, especially during difficult economic times. They genuinely don't understand that this is the cheaper option, or maybe they're just that desperate to find a doctor.
The American election proved how selfish people are at their core and I'm terrified, but pretty certain, that our own will also prove the point.
It seems irrational. Only a fraction of the electorate actually voted PC. So instead of blaming the voters, it's important to recognize the inability of the other parties to inspire voters. Not ideal to focus on leaders but that's what works in our system. They need someone with charisma and (perceived) integrity. Manitoba pulled it off with Wab Kinew. Jack Layton did well. Trudeau early on.
The NDP needs a leaders who are less glossy and more gritty. It needs leaders who have a working class background and can sell the party to working class voters.

If the aim is to destroy the ability of government to function, eliminate all constraints on corporate exploitation of the workforce and the environment, and hand all former government services to for-profit companies, it is going well. Musk is already awarding his companies contracts to replace the functions of the government departments he's shutting down.
But he said he would step away if there was any conflict, you have to believe him. /s
Most of Muskβs money is tied to Tesla, the swaticars are not doing that good and the stock is free falling. He needs to make money some other way now.

Personally i like the idea of the doge department but obviously its being used for corruption. if we could actually hold spending accountable that would be great
