Israel has said it will keep blocking humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, as it vowed to force Hamas into releasing the remaining hostages from the 7 October attacks.

Aid supplies including food, fuel, water and medicine have been blocked by Israel from entering Gaza since 2 March, more than two weeks before the collapse of the ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian militant group with a return to air and ground attacks on the territory.

The medical charity Médecins Sans Frontières said on Wednesday that Gaza was becoming a “mass grave for Palestinians”.

The Israeli defence minister, Israel Katz, said: “Israel’s policy is clear: no humanitarian aid will enter Gaza, and blocking this aid is one of the main pressure levers preventing Hamas from using it as a tool with the population.”

It is almost like they are going to starve these people to death.

Remember the temporary pier? It’s been war crimes for long time now. Israel and its supporters are disgusting

Never again? What happened to that? Why is it ok now bibi? Everyone was rightly furious at the treatment of Jewish, Romanian, disabled folk, and queer folks, amongst others at the hands of the nazis. Why are repeating such a vile part of history that had affected so many not so long ago. It's nothing short of deplorable.

I think supporters of Israels actions don't see genocide itself as inherently wrong, but more that some of the people victimized by the Holocaust were wrongly targeted. This one is against the "right" people.

I hate to say it, but I reckon that's why

Time has shown that they only cared about one of those groups. I doubt the average American knows that queer and disabled people were sent to the camps, and I'm sure they only know Romani by their slur name

I can't speak for the Americans but as a Canadian I educated myself, while the murder of the other groups was mentioned, the biggest focus was on Jewish people being killed.

That is a daily struggle now

[–] AngrySquirrel@lemm.ee 15 points 2 months ago (2 children)

How is this not a genocide?

[–] BenjiRenji@feddit.org 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Who says it isn't at this point?

[–] HellsBelle@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 months ago

Israel, the USA, the UK, Canada, etc etc.

[–] lupusblackfur@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Welp...

Can't have those pesky aid folks getting in there and messing up the workings of a perfectly good and proper genocide now can we Netan-yayhoo...???

FFS.

And with the full blessing and backing of the US...

They first need to find more place for hiding their dead bodies

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 4 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Those people are all hostages, with two oppressors fucking them over. Israeli hostages count more for some reason.

[–] HellsBelle@sh.itjust.works 9 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Every time Israel bulldozes a bombed building I bet there are bodies in the mix.

It's shitty, but it's not surprising, is it? All the stops come out when it's one of your people.
