I love that we're supposed to pretend this is "doxxing". These are public government work-email addresses! Our taxes are paying for the chaos and destruction they're doing...

[–] Monument@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 3 days ago

Right. I know someone who works for a unit of government. They hated that their contact info was publicly available because I guess LinkedIn headhunters kept finding their work email and mailing them there. I think they wound up deleting LinkedIn.
But anyway. It’s public information, because it’s a public job. That’s what it is. Same reason that government websites can’t/shouldn’t say “copyright 2025 the government” because all their materials are property of the public.

It would be a shame if someone signed these email addresses up for a bunch of gay porn sites

[–] aseriesoftubes@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago (2 children)
[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I just looked at their website, there's no sign up, unfortunately. You can email them, but that wouldn't work for this project.

[–] aseriesoftubes@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Thank you for doing the research and putting yourself on an FBI watchlist in the process

Sacrifices must be made for the greater good.

Jehovah's Witnesses? Scientology?

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 3 days ago

This is not the way. You take these addresses and report them in states with anti-abortion trafficking laws.

That's the harmless fun part. There are more meaningful ways to use this list but the rules of this instance prevent me from sharing them.

Because it’s time that could have been spent causing real damage to them?

[–] FrenziedFelidFanatic@pawb.social 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

And now we have a nice, comma-separated array of strings for wherever that might be useful ;)

One of these domains is not like the others

[–] arotrios@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

Nice catch - erm71@who.eop.gov... no website attached to the subdomain, but I'm hearing a familiar tune in my head...

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Someone write to him and ask him to stop doing things now.

Oh and remember it's all Office365 so the usual security vulnerabilities apply.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Probably just means White House.

[–] Mcdolan@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Oh, hey erm71 seems like a username that could go back in time quite far. Is it that old news that name being tied to musk? If not, anyone know a data broker?

[–] arotrios@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago

1971 is Elon's birth year. Kinda stupid to put it in his email address against government protocol, imho.

The Verge claims it is Felons email address.
