I think his unrealistic 24 hour plan was to give putin what he thought he wanted. Eg all the territory he's captured so far and assurances against nato action/withdrawal of some western personnel at nato border country bases. You know putin's public story.

He just didn't know putin's real objective. Maybe now he's getting a bit of an idea. He's too simplistic to fathom that there could have been an ulterior motive.

Your mistake here is assuming that this level of thought is possible by trump. There's no 4d chess here. He's just being played for an idiot cause that's what he is.

I guess Trump is playing 0.4d chess, i.e. chess on a linear board that is 0.4 times as long in its single dimension as a regular chess board (3 tiles), on that kind of board it does look like winning is easy obviously.

It is 0.4d chess, and trump only has a knight which he failed to realize is useless in one dimension.
