Hello there,

I don’t know if it is a Voyager (2.34.0) problem or iOS (18.4.1) issue but since very recently, 2 weeks max, the app refresh itself almost every time you go back to it.

If you stay on a feed like home or local, scrolled down to older posts (order by newest), when you go back to Voyager 85% of the time it will reload and go back to the 1st post of the feed, thus losing your progression in the scroll addiction.

It also happens if you are inside a post instead of a feed. It happens whether you:

  • "alt-tab" (swipe up) to another application then come back later
  • Keep Voyager on the foreground and just lock your phone with the power button to enjoy life, then come back later.

It looks a lot like this bug report for android: https://github.com/aeharding/voyager/issues/1789

As I said, I don’t know if it is an iOS update or Voyager update that caused that, but it is annoying to lose your position in the doom scrolling addiction.

It is a good cure to that addiction tho.

Far as I can tell, it does that when the phone is running low on ram. At least, that's when it does it to me.

There's no task manager on iphone to check ram usage. I will disable tons of useless background update authorized apps, reboot and kill background apps to have a fresh start.

I'll see today if that changes anything as it just happened again (I tried taping on the top bar to scroll back to last position as it works during normal use, no chance, so the scroll position was clearly reset to "top of the page")

Welp, it happened again with the phone after cleaning the ram so I don’t know.

Something must have changed in an update somewhere as it now happens several times a day time instead of just a very few time a week like before. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is happening to me on several apps. My first thought was RAM, but it’s clearly not the issue. I’m pretty sure it’s a software update issue.
