2A guy here. for the record assault weapons should be banned or regulated to fuckall, and all firearms should be registered to licensed Americans.
I'm not saying anything too loudly because it's bad tactics to give away your position when in a conflict.
nobody knows who or what is behind your door. use that to your advantage.

without a registry and path to licensing children will keep getting killed in schools, people will keep getting killed at public events.
A registery isn't going to magically solve people shooting each other...and no I don't believe there should be a registry...you know why? Because when fascist are charge like right now, do you think they'll let minorities own or purchase weapons to protect themselves?
A registry and licensing is not and will never solve our gun violence issues, because we don't have a gun problem, we have a societal problem.
it's a mental health problem, not a societal problem. and the best way to ensure that violent smooth brain assholes don't get guns is to register them and ensure they are trained and licensed.
stop acting like a troll. registry and licensing works in other countries just fine. perhaps we wouldn't have as many of those "societal issues" if there was more gun regulation, specifically assault weapons.
there's no "magic bullet" that's going to solve everything, but doing nothing does nothing.
No it is not just a mental health problem. And the reason it works in other countries is because they A) dont have anywhere near the amount of firearms we do in civ hands and b) because they have safety nets for their citizens.
I've not said to not do anything. I've said we need to work on our society. Doing half this list would cut our violent crime in half in under a decade. Registration and licensing would not do a damn thing.
Single payer healthcare, so people can get mental health without going broke and avoiding it. Or turning to suicide, which is 2/3rds of our firearm deaths.
Reform prisoners, not lock them away for forever and rob them of ever being a productive member of society.
Get rid of for profit prisons, so we're not turning an addict into someone who gets out of prison and can't get a job because they carry a felony.
End qualified immunity so the 1/40 gun deaths aren't from police who just kill people and get away with it.
Increase our school funding 10 fold. Build more schools, so class sizes can be 10-15 kids max per teacher. Not 30-40+
Solidify abortion rights into law, why the hell it's been left to the courts for so long is insane. More unwanted children doesn't create mentally stable people.
