Correct, anything short of a civil war in the USA and subsequent re writing of their constitution to provide some guarantees there will always be adults supervising their government, Canada and the rest of the world cannot trust the USA again

Trump is too dumb to realise this but he single handedly destroyed the USA. By the time the persistent global boycott is felt, the USA would be in such disarray, nothing will work internally. And any relationship with the USA in the future would price in the risk of another betrayal

It's an expression Americans came up with to explain it was OK to have a lunatic as President

It's supposed to mean there are checks and balances so one deranged president doesn't, I don't know, collapse the economy applying tariffs like he drinks coke
