- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. - No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

I for one am rooting for him to succeed. I am also banking on all those deplorable MAGA dummies promising to leave NYC. Any word on that yet? They've got a few days till Mamdani assumes office. Tick tock motherfuckers.
Yeah, as much as Mamdani's former statements about the 2024 election and overt support from tankies makes me apprehensive to him, it's good to remind ourselves that the alternative is people like Cuomo and Sliwa.
Which statements would that be?
As for tankies supporting him, that doesn't make HIM a tankie any more than conservative members of minorities supporting Trump makes him not an oppressive bigot 🤷
99 out of 100 times if it's good for China it's bad for the rest of us. Behind only Iran, NK, and Russia, their closest military allies, they're one of the most malicious and aggressive nations on earth. When a Tankie supports something, I approach that thing with a newfound sense of skepticism.
Mamdani said "As proud Democrats and elected officials and New Yorkers,” Mamdani declared, “we endorse the Leave it Blank campaign."
How does an endorsement of the Leave it Blank campaign equate with being a tankie? Leaving a primary ballot blank makes it completely unignorable that there are active who don't support the candidates. It's the actual way to send the message that non-voters like to fantasize they're sending.
