U.S. military's Africa Command confirmed it had conducted a strike that killed multiple militants at the request of Nigerian authorities.

It's a little unclear if Nigeria asked for it but they seem to be going along with it.

Nigeria's government has said armed groups target both Muslims and Christians, and U.S. claims that Christians face persecution do not represent the complex security situation and ignore efforts to safeguard religious freedom. But it has agreed to work with the U.S. to bolster its forces against militant groups.

So, that's the thing, right? We're so used to everything this administration does being Absolutely horrible. Rightly so.

But they took out Islamic State(TM)? That would be a win for humanity. . .but is it true? Sheesh, that's the hard part. Who's to say? It's always more complicated than a single headline or news article can contain.

We're almost entirely in a post-truth society at this point.

Sometimes the why can be just as important as the action.

Did this happen because Donald Trump wanted to do a good thing that would benefit someone that isn't him? Probably not.

Did this happen because headlines are flying around that Donald Trump is a child rapist/baby murderer and any distraction is a good distraction? I'd say the timing is pretty fucking on point for a new conflict or a newly publicized conflict.

I feel like this is something that could have possibly been the right the to do, but I am more than certain that it wasn't intended to be.

Who's to say?

Who knows man
