I dunno, they stopped the borehole due to high temperatures. Drilling under the ocean would mean easy water cooling.
My opinion based on zero research is that salt water is hell for mechanisms.
Ordinarily, sure, but we're talking about hot salt water, which is definitely less corrosive.
Oh wait.
Haven't we solved that? How does offshore oil work?
Well obviously they just remove all the salt first.
if a soup is too salty you add some potatoes to absorb some of the salt, so i bet they do the same with oil, just more
So just more potatoes?
Boil em, mash em, throw em in the sea.
No you make the whole drill out of potatoes, duh!
We make the hole bigger and install pumps to pull water and debris out. Easy fix! /S
