This is a little hysterical, relax.
Nothing to do with oil reserves. Everything to do with being desperate for Maduro to give up and leave power so a Trump puppet can replace him.
Maduro knows Trump cannot go to war in Venezuela. He is daring him to invade Venezuela to remove him from power. MAGA is simply turning the screws trying to get him out without war.
In the same way Zelensky knew Putin would never invade the Donbas, sure.
"This would be a stupid Pyrrich struggle that would cost tens of thousands of American lives and trillions of dollars with no real material benefits!"
Because the Americans haven't done anything exactly like this before.
I get your point, but Trump really cannot go to war.....yet. The only way would be a complete and transparent move to full authoritarianism, which they're not quote ready for yet.
Once it becomes clear the midterm elections will not be happening, or it's clear they will be completely illegitimate, then we will see the raw, unfiltered actions of the MAGA regime.
So, you're not wrong. But right now, MAGA's hands are tied and Maduro knows it.
I'm not sure thats a hysterical reaction... I'm calmly asking, maybe we should check the guy who lies for a living, to see if he's lying. Maybe someone should be checking on the oil reserves to make sure, ya know.. They're actually there.
You're talking about WW3 implications that "everyone is already thinking about" (no, everyone isn't) and conjuring a conspiracy about oil reserves with no real reason..... that's at least a bit hysterical.
Re: WW3, China and Russia have already signaled they won't step in. Most likely due to an unspoken (in Russia's case, probably explicitly spoken) agreement that Taiwan and Ukraine will be left without any American support.
The price of oil is low, oil trade is uninterrupted, there's no reason to fake having a bunch of reserves.
Things are shite, but not in the way you seem to think.
Speaking about oil reserves, the US can be a petro state and net exporter as long as the price is above 60 USD/bbl. Thanks to hydraulic fracturing. Other nations can still produce oil cheaper than that, but the US has a vested interest now in stabilizing the price right around where fracking breaks even, because they're also such a big consumer of petroleum.
