Beginning near the more famous Queens Garden trail and Sunset Point, this great hike takes you down into the more open canyon area of Bryce Canyon. This allows you to fully appreciate this scope of this magnificent geologic feature. With all the ups and downs, you're rewarded with multiple vantages.
A hillside of several large sets of hoodoos rising up above it. A light cover of snow may be seen along the ground in the more shaded areas. A few beams of light come into the frame from the top left.
Looking up towards a group of hoodoos with some of the larger upper ones looking more castle-like and the lower more eroded ones forming into needles. One thing I like with this photo is you can sort of tell based on segmentation where the weaker or more prone erosion layers are.
Contrasting canyon walls of hoodoos, with the western (left) side having received more sunlight all of the snow has melted while to the right snow may still be seen covering the shaded valley.
This is remind me of the trip my wife (then girlfriend) took with another couple we are friends with. Well, we are friends with one of them, they’ve since broken up. Anyway, we flew out to Salt Lake City and were so excited to explore the west. NOPE! Our travel partners didn’t want to be in the car for “too long”. We ended up only dragging them out to snowboard and some hiking on Antelope Island, which while cool, isn’t what I was coming to Utah for. I remember the last day we were there they wanted to go bowling. You can do that anywhere, the fuck is wrong with them?!?
Anyway, what I’m trying to say is I am very jealous of your amazing hike and terrific photos OP! I have since learned to establish what any potential travel partners are willing to do before booking. Live and learn!
Haha, yeah compatible travel partners is key! Part of why I enjoy solo traveling so much, get to set my own schedule. Rest? That's for post-vacation!
