Was it a good book series? Worth reading?
If you like fantasy, romance and a bit of mystery. It wasn't anything amazing but I found it for a few bucks at a thrift store and it's held my attention so far. Apparently there are a ton of books in the series.
Judging by the heft of that book, the author isn't hurting for inspiration.
Can we turn this into a book recommendation thread? If you want fantasy horror, anything by T. Kingfisher is great. I love the Sworn Soldier books (reinterpretation of The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allen Poe) and the World of the White Rat series.
If you like litrpg I recommend life at reset.... Basically(no spoilers this is book 1 chapter 1) guy is head of huge guild in a mmorpg, he gets betrayed by his friend and turned into a literal monster. As it progresses it goes in several weird directions of philosophy as weird as that sounds.
Its a YA fantasy novel, written at the start of those getting more popular again. If you are looking for a series to just read for awhile, its not bad - the novels are all actually a decent length, and she has written several series within the same universe.
There is a lot of teenage angst in all of the books though.
