Politics is politics. Votes swing, some percentage of people also place protest votes. Some percentage of any population are stupid, some just want to see the world burn. All people are influenced by propaganda and their own biases, and some percentage try to fight that by being discerning and politically engaged. Most people are somewhere in-between, just trying to get on with their lives while ignoring the torrent of shit that the world throws at them.... which is also a tactic used to disengage people.

You are underestimating the power of influence of mass media and everything on our phones. These are ultra-processed,targeted, and persistent bits of info being fed into ppls brainholes.

It takes several years and several billions per country but I wouldn't put it past any EU country to not be susceptible to it.

It's foolish to think half of Britain voted Brexit without a cause, you would expect like up to 5% to want that.

It would be more prudent to whip up some regulation preventing such bs to be possible since we know it exists & works.
