Officially yes it was cancelled. The leaked version is playable from start to finish!

Wild. So a leaked version exists and it's fully playable and beatable but they just won't sell it? Weird.

Yep! And it only exists because lower Nintendo administration gave rare a false notion that executive would be okay with this
