The votes to raise the minimum wage that have reached the floor since then have been split on party lines, and the Republicans are the ones voting against.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world -1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

So, what you're saying is, when Democrats have power there isn't a vote at all.

Funny coincidence, that.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

In the time period that you are talking about the Dems controlled the house, Senate, and Whitehouse for something like 3-4 months. They were busy with the ACA during that time period. They should have raised the minimum wage then, but I don't think they realized they would keep losing the house and Senate for the next 15 years

Dems controlled the house, Senate, and Whitehouse for something like 3-4 months.

So it's perfectly reasonable to expect that they do something. Yes.

You're right.

Expecting Democrats to actually do what they say when they have the power to do so is a dream.

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ya huh. Repubs have all the power now and they're still doing shit illegally or by executive order because governmental obstruction is such an issue. Ie. You live in a Dreamworld.

Oh they suck too, don't get me wrong.

But I'm not sure how you can look at the last ten months of Donald's presidency and honestly conclude that Democrats were powerless to do good these last 20 years.

It's unreasonable.

Democrats lied to us and got rich selling us out to their golf buddies. That's it.

You're on a first name basis with a pedophile, neat.

I can conclude that the government is complex but I don't think outright breaking the law is particularly helpful or at all a reason to say he's doing well.

Trump golfs literally every week with billionaires he put in government and takes bribes from. Are you simply ok with that because they're not hiding it?

You’re on a first name basis with a pedophile, neat.

Incorrect. I call him Donald out of sheer disrespect and hatred of his branding.

I can conclude that the government is complex

That is one of the best thought-terminating cliches I've heard yet to pretend Democrats are magically powerless.

Trump golfs literally every week with billionaires he put in government and takes bribes from.

Profile literally says I hate both Democrats and Republicans Maybe don't be this lazy.

So you're on a first name basis with a pedophile, justify it how you'd like.

It's not a cliche it's an actual fact the repubs have been finding out this whole term when they fuck something up and have to redo it then fuck that up and get told they can't even try again. A thought terminating cliche would be suggesting an actual fact it's a simple cliche like I dunno just now for instance.

Yeah the "I don't agree with either but I'm actively defending one side" shit is also a cliche. Stand for nothing, fall for everything and such.

Ed: also no one is going to read your profile, who the fuck does that anyway?

Bummer that we can't get you as angry about genocide as you are about rightful critiques of your pet politicians' voting record and governance on the Internet.

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 1 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

You're cute.

A. I'm not mad

b. Who says I'm not mad about genocide dipshit? How would you even come to that conclusion based on this limited interaction that genocide was never even mentioned in?

You live in a Dreamworld bud.
