The artist knew exactly what they were drawing.
Exactly. I hear so many "fails" on school books from across the world. I think a lot of the time school books are not getting reviewed enough before being published, and the author will see if his/her prank fails. Sometimes, however, there is intentional propaganda being peddled.
Peddled? It’s more like galloped.
Knights fighting snails.
That image will stick in the mind of every school boy (and possibly girl) who sees it. That's a win for the textbook.
