Well of course. He was a Russian Asset "Krasnov", and had tens of millions of dollars in loans from them. And he's always been open about admiring Putin.

Not to forget about sex services and human traffic from ex-soviet states. His wife Melania is a slovenian model that happened to imigrate to the US. When soviet empire collapsed, a lot of young women wished to leave it whatever the cost is.

One tiny nit: Yugoslavia wasn't a Soviet state or a member of the Warsaw Pact. It was nominally non-aligned, though Tito would often cooperate with the USSR.
