Even with back legs that work a bit different, and useless for climbing, there are not many places she can’t get on her own. Anywhere else she wants to get, she knows how to yell at us to tell us about it.

She’s perfect.

What a sweet baby face! If you don’t mind me asking, is she able to handle the litter box alright by herself, or does she need special care?

I don’t mind at all but others may regret reading some of this!

She mostly does great. Pooping has improved massively.

When she was a kitten and still perfecting her technique she would have occasional problems, ranging from a little bit of litter stuck to her legs, all the way up to looking like she rolled around in diarrhea, which she basically did on more than one occasion.

I genuinely think we bonded a lot during that time, because I would have to hold her in my arms like a baby to clean her, and she would just gaze up at me calmly and lovingly while I tried to clear the shit from the back of her legs without putting her into water.

Now she only has occasional issues with poop if she’s sick and it’s very soft. She’s really amazing how she’s adapted.

We have two litter robots and (for now) a third conventional box but with higher sides.

The litter robots are actually best because the one issue she does have is that when she pees, it basically shoots straight out behind her. So she usually goes into the litter robot, turns around so she’s facing out, and pees onto the back of the interior. Sometimes she forgets, and some cleanup in aisle 5 is needed.

No regrets from reading that at all, thanks for sharing! My late girl was a long haired cat, so she had poop related accidents fairly regularly too, no leg issues needed. I’m really jealous your cat is so calm about you cleaning her off, my poor girl was always so upset by it no matter how gentle and reassuring we were. It’s really incredible your cat has adapted so well, she sounds like such a sweetie!
