Wow. They couldn't even use a good AI. This is the kind of mutilated shit from 3 years ago.
Honestly this is my favorite type of ai. I feel like there isn't a real artist that can create something that looks so correct out of the corner of the eye but so wrong under direct observation. It's the kind of unsettling that drew me to cosmic horror and body horror, but in a way that neither has ever managed to scratch.
Yeah, if anyone wound ask of me to use AI slop for a thing like this "mural", this is exactly the only thing I would submit.
I think I would respect it more if it was this. There's this amazing sense of uncanny and this creeping dread that comes from seeing these. Like slowly realizing that the patch of woods in front of you is a predator and your brain hasn't quite broken the camouflage yet.
It's an absolute shame that ai has made this so hated because a true master artist capuring that feeling will forever be assumed to be ai.
