Those $1000 chairs are not uncomfortable. A lot of the price is also the warranty and they are much cheaper for a business bulk purchasing.
I love picking up Aeron or similar stuff used. They’re great chairs and a used one isn’t any more expensive than those horrible racing style chairs but will actually last and be comfortable for over a decade. My current one is a 2006 model and still going strong.
A very good chair is important, it doesn't have to be a $1,000 chair, but, never returning to the back-crushing racing chair.
