Too late corporate Newsom, AOC took your place for the presidential position.

I would love an AOC presidency, and I’d vote for her in a heartbeat, but most Americans are so sexist and terrified of socialism that I suspect she would get snubbed like Bernie. Also, as @The_Che_Banana@beehaw.org mentioned, Newsom is very good at attracting corporate interest, and as America’s elections are (mostly) bought, that’s what it will come down to.

TBH at this point, it’d be nice to have an administration that’s not actively hunting us down, so I’ll take the baby steps.

EDIT: I’m not (and don’t believe in) advocating for voting in primaries for candidates just because you think they stand a better chance in the general election. That strategy is a self-fulfilling prophecy and splits parties. You should vote for the candidate that best aligns with your values.

What I am saying is while I hope AOC would win a primary and would vote for her, I’m not optimistic she would.

Ah but Newsom will have corporate backing and that will steamroll AOC like Bernie/Hilary...either way I think fair and free elections are so it's probably a moot point
